The Oxbridge classroom isn’t limited to one room or building. Every Oxbridge course is designed to make the most of the extraordinary resources of the great cities in which the programs are taking place, so that students discover the city through the course and the course through the city. On any given day, the classroom might be a local museum, a research lab or hospital, the market square, or a nearby park. Some days, the teacher’s expertise is supplemented by discussions, workshops, and demonstrations run by vising guest speakers. This variety in both venue and content delivery are core to our academic philosophy and contribute to an interactive and immersive environment.
Our extracurricular activities enable students to spend the summer fully immersing themselves in Paris and its unique lifestyle.
Alongside a full sporting calendar, those interested in discovering the city’s fascinating history will enjoy guided tours of sites such Versailles, the Pantheon, the Catacombs, and the Sainte-Chapelle. They will also have the opportunity to visit some of the world’s greatest museums, such as the Louvre and the Orsay.
For the foodies, a macaron-tasting tour, picnic in the Parc de Bagatelle, and eating crêpes in the Luxembourg Gardens are just among the many opportunities to sample delicious French cuisines.
Our sunset cruise on the Seine and guided tour of the Opéra Garnier always prove to be highlights of the summer. Above all, however, whether they are in a museum learning about Winged Victory or a café, watching the world saunter past, students learn to live like Parisians.
Although no week on an Oxbridge program is “typical”, the below provides a general overview of a week in the life of a Oxbridge in Paris student.
