Dear Students, Parents and Teachers,

Welcome to La Escuela Preparatoria de Barcelona, a program designed for students in grades 8 and 9. After a wonderfully successful innaugural year, ‘La Prepa’ continues to offer this age group a unique opportunity to discover Spain’s riches and pursue a singular academic and cultural experience.

One of the great European capitals, Barcelona attracts artists, scholars, and thinkers from around the world. Our program allows students to experience life in this exciting city, where literature, art, music, fashion and design, technology, and cuisine are all of the greatest quality. For those whose goal is to improve their Spanish, they can immerse themselves in the language as well as the culture. All the while, they remain in a safe and structured environment, overseen by our experienced and caring staff.

Born in Spain and having grown up in the United States, I believe that study abroad is one of the greatest gifts that students this age can enjoy, and I personally could not imagine a better way to spend a summer. It is thrilling for me to have this opportunity to combine my love of working with this age group and my passion for Spain and the Spanish language.

Please take the time to read about our wonderful program. I hope that after doing so, you will understand why I am excited to be back as Program Director, and why I am looking forward to sharing everything that Barcelona has to offer.

Sincerely,

Jorge Salas
Director
