Talks and Seminars
In the early evening, students attend talks by leading academics and take part in college application workshops. Topics that have been addressed in past lectures have included various approaches to critical thinking and the role literature has played in forming opinion. College application workshops have addressed how to create the best university application; how to prepare for interviews; how to write the best college essay; and - importantly - what to expect from university.
When not in class, students are taken on a range of educational visits to universities including NYU and Columbia; they visit famous sites and museums; go on tours of world-famous neighborhoods; and enjoy a range of fun and recreational activities. Past destinations have included the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim, and the Frick; Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, Greenwich Village, SoHo, Fifth Avenue, and Central Park; baseball and soccer matches; and much more.
