La Academia de Barcelona is an academic program for students in grades 9-12 held in the Residència Universitària Josep Manyanet, a university residence in an upscale residential area of Barcelona, Spain.
While we offer intensive Spanish language courses at all levels from pure beginner to advanced, there is no Spanish language requirement for the program, as more than half of our twenty courses offered are taught in English. Whatever their priorities, students come away with a new understanding of the subject matter as well as an expert familiarity with Barcelona.
The international faculty includes scholars, academics, and creative professionals such as artists, photographers, and writers from Barcelona and elsewhere. Together with program administrators, including Program Deans and Activities Directors, students enjoy a daily schedule that combines intellectual and curricular adventure, cultural enrichment, field trips, guest speakers, activities, and sports, all in a safe, supervised environment.
At the end of the program, students can opt to travel to Paris for five days after the program, in order to continue in their immersion experience in France's spectacular capital, see Paris Connection.
La Academia de Barcelona is sponsored by The Foundation for International Education in cooperation with Oxbridge Academic Programs.
