Professor James Basker has designed these programs for students in grades 8 to 12 - all with the goal of giving young people the opportunity to live and study in the historic and scholarly centers of learning that are Oxford and Cambridge in England, St Andrews in Scotland, Barcelona and Salamanca in Spain, Paris and Montpellier in France, and New York, Los Angeles, and Boston in The United States.
Our teachers define us.
They include Rhodes, Gates, Marshall and Fulbright Scholars, and top academics from local universities – Oxford, Cambridge, the Sorbonne, Columbia, Harvard, NYU, UCLA, St Andrews, Pompeu Fabra, Salamanca and many more – as well as creative professionals and performers - all of them chosen for their qualifications and experience, and especially for their love of teaching and young people.
Our range of courses is unmatched.
From Archeology to Zoology, we offer over 200 courses. There is a dazzling variety of humanities, social sciences and creative subjects – transcending traditional classroom limitations and school curricula. Popular courses include Medical Science, Business, Law, Psychology, and Engineering, among many others. We have language programs in Montpellier and Salamanca, for students wishing to perfect their French and Spanish, as well as courses in Paris and Barcelona for all language levels, taught in context by native speakers.
Our students have fun in a safe, supervised environment.
Beyond the classroom, students enjoy a variety of field trips, innovative workshops, prominent guest speakers, and afternoon and evening activities - all designed by our imaginative Activities Directors. Trips to ancient ruins and medieval churches, visits to iconic landmarks and hidden treasures, games of soccer and basketball, punting and pétanque, concerts and plays, talent nights and dances all create a happy community of friends.
And to ensure the safety and supervision of our students, we bring full-time school-level educators to all of our programs to provide personal care and disciplinary guidance. Our Program Deans and Directors are experienced, talented teachers familiar with the age groups involved. We create programs that are focused upon learning and living well.
Everything we do creates an inspiring, safe, and supportive environment for our students' personal and intellectual growth. Each year students and teachers from over eighty countries – from North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, and Asia – are brought together in spectacular locations. They share an experience that opens cultural horizons and presents intellectual opportunities – and ultimately changes lives.
